Was born to a wealthy Parisian family of Jewish descent.
After cruising the world for five years abroad luxury steamships, Frank returned to Paris and opened a swanky furniture studio with Adolphe Chanaux.
The studio maintained a wealthy clientelewho demanded rich and luxurious pieces with handmade rushwork and expensive fabrics.
Frank was an “interior decorator” therefore, most of his work has come down to us in the photographs of the houses he decorated – and yet, his interiors have had a determining impact on modern tastes.
