| Either of American or English provenance, this item can certainly be defined as a classic. It was probably designed after World War I and it enjoyed considerable success until the late ‘twenties. Some of its typical features, such as the scrolled armrests reflect a late nineteenth century style. With its very subdued lines and the fact that it is completely upholstered, it is likely that over the years the original design was modified until it achieved its present comfort and harmony. |
